no, a gimmick is clearly defined: it’s a mechanic that serves no real purpose.
show me a single game where people use Keshiks differently DUE to their gold generation. That is usually not the case, so it’s a gimmick.
compare that to coustillier’s charge attack. people actively use this unit to run in, snipe a single vil/monk and retreat. that’s a mechanic with a purpose.
show me games where this is happening.
fair enough. it’s still shit, and shouldn’t be in the game.
then you don’t know what a gimmick is.
there are huge threads with translations issues, even for French.
Quality assurance means checking that there are no bugs on release. Each release comes with serious bugs:
teleporting units, units dealing extra damage, units getting stuck on terrain, random crashes
that’s not what QA is.
luck. Even if it has something to do with hardware, it’s an optimization issue by the game.
in this forum everything from “game designer” to “QA tester” and the “moderation team” is called “the devs”.
reporting people to moderation is only useful if there is any actual moderation. the problem is that the moderation team is failing. People who deliberately throw games hundreds of times, and get reported many times still get to play, without consequences.
i provided several options.
nonsense. voobly and HD both have an elo system. All i want is that they provide an elo system for the lobby.
so many units, which i have listed previously in this thread and in several other threads. Are you deliberately misunderstanding me?
I am unhappy that changes are forced upon me. Especially when i consider many of those changes bad or not in the spirit of the game.
give me an option to play a functioning game without any of this newly added bullshit and you won’t ever hear me complaining about it again. for all i care they can add Jedi, Atlantians and Bees to the game, if i still have an option to play without these I’m fine. It’s not ok that they are replacing old civs.
there is some truth to this argument. However the hussite wagon is advertised as “can protect units”, however that functionality never gets used. so it’s a gimmick
the devs were experimenting with some mechanics, as is normal when developing a game. they then decided against the mechanics you mentioned because they didn’t fit the game.
I have defined what I mean be “gimmick” several times: a mechanic added to a unit, which doesn’t change how you use that unit. (Or alternatively a mechanic that can be replaced by a basic stat change without affecting how the unit is used)
Examples (which i have listed several times before):
just objectively not true. show me a single case where someone uses hussite wagons to block projectiles.
Even if you could find a case, it’s incredibly niche.
I am not breaking any rules though.
I am forced to download these changes when i install on a new machine.
I am forced to download these changes when I want to play with friends.
I bought this game. you don’t get to tell me to shut up, just because you don’t agree with me. Especially since the changes I am asking for wouldn’t negatively affect anyone.
