Spain lacks its main unit

Of course Spanish used Morrion helmets. But what I wanted to say, is that Mounted Arquebusiers weren’t “the backbone” of spanish army. Conquistador, although means anybody that conquers, mainly is the name of people that went to conquer America. So all military units are “conquistadores”.

Mounted arquebusiers was not their “main military unit” and wasn’t a spanish singularity of their armies. What I mean with Conquistador pop culture, is the Conquistador as a mounted arquebusier was made famous by AoC.

Gameplay wise there could be a shipment, but probably wouldn’t be used because dragoons are better. Maybe in treaty because they are 0 pop, as an alternative to Maya spearmen shipments.

Adding a change the cost/stats, would break the minor settlement unit. Changing skins wouldn’t happen, if you do it for Spain, you should do it for every european civ, and that won’t happen (and break the easily identification of the units)

Who remembers American Conquest? The Spanish in that game also had a heavily armored cavalry unit called the Conquistador which actually looked quite cool

Basically a dragoon with a shiny armor. Why not give Spain 2 special cavalry units? The melee infantry units are just never used (maybe in ranked rush games??).

For lore purposes just rename the spain dragoon Spanish Conquistador and adjust the stats such that they are not an exact copy of dragoons but not super duper over/under powered by comparison

No.
There is already a proper Conquistador unit in the game, and it is worse thana Dragoon.
There is absolutely no need to tweak the Spanish Dragoon.

No, they are not. 3 Dragoons will literally kill 5 Conqs.

Conqs are even worse than Horse Archers, they are the worst Dragoon typoe unit in the game, and are just there for civs that get no Cavalry, or no Gunpowder Cavalry.
The benefits of the Jesuit Mission, are the decent upgrades it gives you (less Vill train time, +25% building HP, Gunpowder Infantry Siege damage).

One minor battle and little else. No use of Longbowmen for the vast majority of the period the game covers and none of the major wars Britain was involved in. The French and Indian War, American Revolution, Napoleonic, 1812. Longbowman is a total waste of a slot when Britain has far more relevant units to the period that arn’t in the game at all or just a renamed generic unit.

All I want is a Stand Ground stance for the priests, so that they don’t break formation after moving them around. Unction is important for Spain’s late game so it would be nice if your priests didn’t run a muck.

no. spain is not in need of a unique range cavalry unit.

But conqueror is a nice unique unit for this civ, is for make a game more cool

They don’t really need them since dragoons are better. But they should at least have an age 2 shipment of them that shadow techs since you can’t get dragoons that early. Or maybe just have a limited number of them that can be trained from the church.

And Portugal should also have a cannoneer shipment.

Well maybe conquistador age 2 shipment. Would fit fine even history wise.

Anyway the person who talked about that spain should get them instead dragoons actually pointed out that they would buffed so they would either be same as normal dragoons or better.

buff or not spain has like 5 unique units, they dont need another 1.

As a letter could be. And in industrial, an infinite conquerors card. (Similar to how English have Cherokee letter).

Do not cost population and count as a native, just like its Jesuit counterpart.

Some nations only have unique units mainly all non euro civs.

well Spain is a European civilization, also Spanish dragoons looked like they do by the later stages of the games period (all be it Spain wasn’t exactly famous for cavalry by that point).

Make more UU for the other european civs, what is the problem?

balance issues. also as i’ve said earlier, i rather they spend the time to make new factions.

why does spain need a unique dragoon? something spain never was famous for.

Including it as a native letter would be nice. A customizable option. I see it feasible in the treated mode. An infinity card of ‘Conquerors’ that does not count as a population and other minor cards for the smaller standard mode.

Really I prefeer a conqueror not mounted. But the jesuit conqueror unit exist in the game.

I hope that the european civs obtain a rework for useless cards and add some new unit.

The conquerors can get from:

  • Card

  • Church

    • In age 2*
