I do wish I had news on AoE:3; I miss providing updates and interacting with y’all. I understand how this may have read as ignorant & I apologise for how it came across.
Merci à vous Tantalus à propos de ce que vous avez fait pour aoe3 DE, je passe encore du temps à faire mes escarmouches en choisissant mes civs au hasard, car grâce à vous j’éprouve du fun à y jouer
Hello, I would like you to communicate the following to your superiors or the appropriate person:
Hello, I am an AOE3 player, and based on the last words in the farewell note, I would like to ask you to please release one last patch with bug fixes and improved modding tools, in addition to making modders’ work as easy as possible. Please take this as an act of farewell to the community and a form of reconciliation with the part of the community that feels betrayed by the treatment over the years and the cancellation of the DLC.
Sincerely, user Konahrik
PS: If it’s possible to release the game code, even better!
No need to apologize. Thanks for understanding. I’ll buy AOM, Battle for Greece, and other games and DLC when whoever’s in charge respects AOE-3 and its community.
Sort of on topic, it might be cut content?
In the scenario editor from day 1 of DE there has existed a few forest presets for Australian forests, off the top of my head there was a South Australian forest (Tantalus Adelaide… not a coincidence I assume) at least. Was that just devs mucking around and learning the systems by making test presets or was there ever any ideas for Australian maps?
We wish that, too. Thanks for remind we exist. I say this not as a complaint, but as a friendly reminder that we as a community don’t want to forget this game. We players, and specially we modders, consider this game a part of our lives. We knew that support and new contents were not forever, but the sudden abandonment of it with a DLC (I thought of it as the last one) was an equally sudden damage for us.
Still, we will stay here, until the day we have to go.
Thanks again to devs and community.
If you mean the Japanese reuse assets from the Chinese civ and have proof of it, I agree it sucks. But if it’s your biased opinion that they have similar myths I don’t think that’s relevant.
Though similar mythology is also an issue. Not enough that the Japanese don’t deserve to be a civ, but it’s certainly poor form to have them following directly after China. Its like AoE3 having back to back Euro civs.
Seconding this since Daniel (one of the devs) talked about how they wanted to make them as full civs (ofc people here would disagree with him but I trust him more than non-devs on that matter).
