Ok i am all for that, but only if in return all Anti-Alt-F4 Forum Poster that created a thread get permabanned too
oh and
Hahahahahahahaha yes ![]()
Hav 'nt read all of the thread. Agree with @ [BouffantBloom32] s meme. But dont totally agree with a long ban o something like that. I think that a âranked ladder cooldownâ would be appropriate. Like 10-15 minutes. If someone leaves after 30 min, It is what it is. Some games are done after 25 min and someone ragequits and thats how it is. If it just is arranged by watching if someone is ALT F4, people will just go around it via âstop processâ or fake DC.
For unraked and lobby it should be as it is. Just to maked the ranked-ranked and competition like but the other arenas should be free imo.
Just to be clear: The 30 minutes was meant as the cooldown period. It will be only applicable if you leave and the match isnt started yet, but the match is already made. Or made in the first few minutes only. So you cant quit if you dont like the map or team mates, or just drop in the first few seconds because you want to lower your elo or for whatever reason you drop that quickly.
I would suggest having it only apply in the period from the match is made to the 2 second ingame minute starts. Somethink like that. In my opinion it must also only apply for the first quitter. I have played game in which an player dropped 5 seconds into the game. The other players dont want to continu the play (which seem fair to me) and also quit the game. I dont think they need to be punished either.
It is also meant to be a ranked only penalty in my opinion. No need to have such system for the lobby or quick play.
It would be absolute garbage if civ picking was not an option.
You already can go random, and have a preferred random option, why do you want even more randomness?
Having to go full random is not something everyone enjoys and it makes it impossible to train strats, or for newer people to enter into ranked play at all.
And any of these changes would only be acceptable for team games.
If any of them makes it to the 1v1 queue it will heavily impact the player numbers.
AoE is already has a playerbase that is plagued by ladder anxiety and extreme playing fatigue.
Making it more of a commitment to start a match and not allowing one to just quit at any point that you want, would make this game feel even less like something you just play to enjoy and more like a chore you have to do once you start playing.
Ah well, then all for!
It is not really impacted 1v1. It mostly hit some smurfs that just want to lower their rating. Losing 20 times in 1h cant be real. And then followed by a winning streak from 500 elo to 1xxx elo. Yeah, that seems pretty normal. I havent seen much quitting in 1v1s for other reasons.
For 1v1 this will only remove smurfs from the ladder. I consider that was a win.
Dude stop playing, go for a walk, smell the flowersâŠ
So people still crying about the alt4 issue (which it is not even an issue) and they suggest usless solutions like 1 map matchmaking or lobby for 1 map or whatever. Again, the Alt4 is not a big problem except maybe in team games, in 1v1 it is almost none, I rarely see this happening, so stop spam alt4 useless post because the alt4 itself is not a big problem at all and very rare to happen
you have no idea what youâre talking about
i queued for all modes (1v1 + 2v2 + 3v3 + 4v4) today
people dodged maps 15 times. and my queue times are not 30 seconds or something quick. i usually have to wait 5-10 minutes before it finds a game
i only have 1 ban for teamgames. sometimes i ban arena. sometimes i ban BF. (neither of these belong in ranked RM. they belong in separate no-rush queues.) and yet i still had to play arena & blackforest today. multiple times each. the system is completely broken
Yeah this is why I said it is team games issue in most of cases, best thing is give team games more bans
What a beautiful day to play some ranked games.
I think I will block those popular maps, so I can play the s*** map I and anyone else like.
Hey!!!??? Why those egoistical people are ducking the s*** map I and anyone else like?
I think I will create a Post in ageofempires.com foruns so they get banned for not wanting play on my s*** map
I think the amount of people queueing will actually increase because
A: people will get the maps they are familiar with (âmaps they can playâ)
B: there will be much less mapdodges, so queueing in more comfortable
So there will be less queue time for a given map, hopefully
Thats the problem, we can decide not to ban any map and we get same results, we dont care if is megarandom or bf or arabia we just want to play a quick game, but I guess thats not possible, people drop for arabia, arena, four lakes, mega random, you name itâŠ
Thatâs where you are wrong my friend because it doesnât matter what map or if we donât ban anything, people still drop, Iâve been starting to think that it could be a game bug since lately it just got worse, it takes about 20-30 minutes to find a quick.match lol
Sometimes I get dropped due to game just freezing (and it is not due to potato PC, all hardware less than 1yo old and capable enough to run the game). I donât know if that look like ALT+F4 on the other side or not⊠but it affects both 1v1 and TG
not a bug, more people is aware that alt-f4 is in fact an infinite map ban.
more people is embracing the alt-f4.
This is the alt-f4 issue in the ranked tg ladder:
People dodge matches, before they start, by pressing alt-f4 and closing the game.
All participants in the lobby will have to requeue and wait until another match is found.
Often the error âfailed to join matchâ is shown.
If people queue over and over again with the person who dodges, they spend a lot of time waiting for a match instead of playing.
Common reasons for a person to dodge are:
- He doesnât like to play a certain map
- His teammates donât pick the position/civs he likes to play with
- He tries to improve his winrate/rating by cancelling matches based on this teammates rating
What other reasons do people have to dodge by alt-f4?
What are your ideas to get rid of the issue?
Not sure why you made a new thread about this topic. There are already multiple threads, in which you also have participate. I am not really clear why we need a new thread to share the same ideas as other threads.
Just a recent thread in which you also already posted:
I dont feel the need to explain my thoughts about the Alt+F4 again in this thread as well. Just look in that other active thread.
