A better ranged cavalry counter would the Almogavar since they won battles against cavalry by throwing javelins at the less armored horses.
The jannisary could be a high damage archer with decent hp, and low range at age 2. Either use the vizier system or a technology to give them guns that drastically increase their damage turning them into a decent hand cannoneer with a high rate of fire, and decent hp.
Notice how all the above 4 points can be solved easily.
Ottoman landmarks already looked incredibly poor compared with real life counterparts and also English, French in-game landmarks. Now they look even more sloppy and below the standard.
MIA and Twin Minaret are screaming for enhancement.
No, he explicitly reacts to a list of muslim architecture partly represented in aoe3 and not the karni mata or victory towerā¦ so u assume sarcasm, but there is none
I use itā¦I like to have several Visires points availableā¦
It was to shoot yourself xdā¦
I like the idea of more Vizier points too, but do you agree itās used so rarely in competitive pro? Maybe it should instantly grant a Vizier upon construction?
It could probably have some unique tech that improves the current vizir points in some way though it may require to rework some of them.
The issue being that the imperial armory is flat out better both in the short and long term. In 2-ish min you get a free siege unit like a mangonel which is 600 ressources (not counting the 300 from the siege workshop you would have to make earlier), a big deal especially if you go for a somewhat fast castle. And itās better long term aswell, especially in imperial as it scales with the Istanbul observatory recruitment speed buff and can make great bombards.
Yeah, itās fine to meā¦
The Great Bombard doesnāt need to really be good vs units. It already works as anti-siege and anti-buildings. Itās basically a culverin and bombard put together. (The splash damage actually makes it really hard to kill with springalds already)
Yeah, but is for be more useful with its damage in area and for be a nexus with its AoE 3 counterpartā¦
No.
1- In NO WAY is it good against Springalds, itās incredibly cost-ineffective against it.
2- The Great Bombard was supposed to be a Unique Unit, and what makes it a Unique Unit is: aoe damage. But the aoe damage is a total joke.
3- Itās much worse against buildings than normal Bombard, cost-wise.
These are the reasons pros never use Great Bombard when the match is for real (for $$$$$).
Sounds like you need to learn to play the Ottomans.
Itās not cost effective against them if you build them manually, but Ottoman players always just set the MIA to great bombard and get them for free in imperial. Great bombards can fight springalds about 1vs3 which is actually fairly cost effective. Also poorly maneuvered springalds might have some die due to splash damage.
Thereās a lot of arguments about nerfing the great bombard right now because it is pretty broken in team games, and great bombard is one of the reasons that fast imp Ottomans is like the highest winrate civ atm in 1v1.
Thereās also the additional benefit of outranging HRE keeps and the Red Palace which Bombards donāt do.
In such analysis, it doesnāt make a difference because youāre indirectly paying for it with your Age 4 bonus, just like other civs receive massive Age 4 bonuses.
When the match is truly competitive (worth $$$$), pros virtually never make Great Bombard.
Idk what you mean about that. Every single match that went to Age 4 with the Ottomans in the last 1v1 tourney of top players for thousands of dollars, the Ottomans produced great bombards.
At the current point, pretty much anyone talking about great bombards is either asking for them to be nerfed or the age up building to be nerfed.
Thereās no need to argue against a false statement, so I wonāt
Are you saying bombards arenāt overpowered, or that people arenāt saying they are.
Personally I find them to be in a fine balance spot, but both here and the reddit there are numerous threads calling for great bombard nerfs. Ottomans however as a civ have a strong argument for being the strongest in the game right now, so the civ should be nerfed in some manner probably.
English long bowmen needs urgent nerf. If you watch English Ottoman games, every late game other player only produce long bowmen. They are too powerful and need nerf. Ottomans dont win the game easly. We cant play the Jans. If GB get nerfed, we must delete ottomans from the game.
Totally agreed. English Longbows even outrange TCs now for fās sake.
Great Bombard still a complete joke, a joke produced slightly faster. Heck, 1-2 GBs (normal number you ever get) are absolutely USELESS.
Devs have used every source to make Byzantines and Japans wonderful and when we look Ottomans, Ottomans arent given same much care infact Ottomans are the worst given care, boring civ. Paid dlc is not same free dlc.
The stable mechanics of the Ottoman definitely needed to be worked on with the fields, such as getting a bonus accordingly, because this is exactly what we call timarili sipahi. While the Ottoman was being developed, not much thought was given to it, no information was taken on it, and it remained bland.
