You still start with the one that gets slaughtered right away, but now you only start with three that can go to the Livestock Market instead of four. I donā€™t know about the Hausa, but I also think Ethiopia will definitely feel this one. Removing the 4 Villager shipment for them is also painful.

And Iā€™m not going to do auto resing every time I get an Aztec in 1v1 xD

These things wouldnā€™t happen if treaty balance was separate from 1v1 balance.

Bummer, they didnā€™t fix the boar guarding 15 food yet. Worst treasure evar.

I was surprised when I first saw that, was expecting 50 food.

Training faster WP is not an auto win when sending 3WP is faster than that lol

The boar actually gives 35 food when you kill it so it amounts to a 50 food treasure. Iā€™ve passed by this treasure many times before finding that out

Not quite, you need to wait till Age II to get the Asian one, but you can send Native Lore in Age I, meaning that you can profit more from some techs quicker. I wouldnā€™t mind an ā€˜ā€˜arives fastā€™ā€™ tho or even making it a team card.

Some thoughts on the patch:

*Native Lore is now even less attractive, they should have added something else aside from the 20% discount, like an extra tech to research or a small buff to the number of natives you can train, or even just a native embassy wagon. Anything.

*I also feel for the Ethiopians, that is a massive nerf for them. I fear they may struggle badly from now on.

*Italy losing an outpost is really bad, they age up with a very brittle eco, and that extra outpost was critical in surviving an early rush.

*I am surprised that the next rework are the Native American civs, I really thought that with the Fete de la Musique, and Bastille Day holidays around the corner, the French would be the next civ to be updated (plus they were the third one of the big colonial powers of the era). Still, glad to see the Native American civs getting some love. The y were badly in need of a further rework both for playability and cultural sensibility issues.

Not sure why they keep messing with the african civs, reducing sebastopol damage from 500 to 300 is massive, it already lost to 2 falconets. Equally giving ethiopia 3v in age 1 but removing 4 vill. For hausa itā€™s not quite so bad because now you can send 3v age 1 and get the berber vills age 2 you donā€™t really need the 4v shipment as much.

The extra outpost was good value but italy is very vulnerable earl game to rushes without it.

But itā€™s still meaningless. No one has ever added Native Learning to their deck and Iā€™m quite sure no one would even use a card that it isnā€™t half as good, even if it saves a slot for Age II cards. Besides that both of them, in supremacy, are used after Exploration Age.

The whole issue is that there isnā€™t much to pull off with them:

  • Most natives have only 3 techs.
  • The European natives have technologies that are far too cheap. It makes any of those cards even more irrelevant.
  • the problem is not the cards, the problem is the minor civs

Ok now Iā€™m really confused.

Havenā€™t seen anyone playing the Africans since the new civs came out.

Ethiopia was in a weird spot before this patch I have no clue why they nerfed it. I know the rush is a bit strong but thatā€™s pretty much the only thing Ethiopia had going on otherwise they struggle a lot.

The reward for killing the boar is 35f and 15 XP. And then you pick the treasure for 15f. So total 50f.

ethiopia feels a lot like japan, u let it live and it will kill you since they have jacked units but Iā€™m not sure if making it slower is the right choice.

hausa, 3 vil is back to being basically the only card to send.

for malta, the german tounge could make a semi with cav pretty strong, you get free cav combat effectively and free shadow tech as well

fire throwers and heavy cannons getting extra hp could be cracked but we will have to see.

I would call the merchant republic change a buff cause now it doesnā€™t eat into age 2 card slot where italy and malta are packed and also you can use it in transition, in age 2 there are just beter cards.

marco polo being age 2 is the correct call, card was way too strong in age 1 , japanā€™s card was also age 2 and that one didnā€™t also pay you back for already collected treasures.

It kind of showed how harmful the 3vil card is for diversity. I actually think that Hausa was more fun without it because I had more options: 15% gather rate, 2v+ sanga cattle, infinite market+ cattle.

Now it will be on autopilot and I will always use the 3v cards. Theyā€™re stronger but they ā€œlock upā€ the Exploration Age, consequently, they handicap ā€œroadsā€ for other strategies throughout all the following ages

If we do the same MO with all civs why even have it? Thatā€™s why USA is so fun: you can do many builds, M.O and strategies with their AGE1 cards that unlock viability to all politicians, cards and strategies.
