I personally think that Denmark and Poland are more likely and I would like to see them in the game, but speaking about another regions civs like Asia or Africa, Persia and Korea are the ones I would like the most to see in-game.
i feel if they were going to add a north african civ like that it would just be morocco.
Hmm, I don’t know, but it is kinda suspicious
I think they are irrelevant but there is a chance, because the Maltese are in the game
Puts on tinfoil hat
Haiti isn’t even mentioned! Maybe it’s not worth updating anything for them when they may be a whole civ
Haití would be awesome if they make it justice as a slave nation that rebelled against its enslavers overlords. But if has anything to do with with pirates, it would be really underwhelming
Nonsense. Persia is isolated and stigmatized today for obvious reasons. Even potential players from the Middle East or India would not play as Persia. Plus, India was ruled by 400 years of Persia: The Delhi Sultanate. We already have them in the game. Do we need another phony elephant war civ?
I vote for Eastern European civs as they have a large player base and no representation.
A stigmatized country ruled by a fanatic theocracy, widely known to be hated by the majority of it’s population, for all of 45 years pales in comparison to the 2,500 year history of Persia.
Due to its incredible history and deep impacts on civilization as a whole, Persia is a fixture in almost every historically based geographically diverse computer game in existence, including but not limited to the entire civilization series and AOE1 and AOE2. It may be a surprise, but almost every computer game ever created originated after the 1979 revolution. So no, the revolution does not have any bearing on whether or not Persia should be included. It also may be a surprise that the vast majority of AOE3 players are not from the middle east and therefore the sectarian divides will have almost zero impact on who would play Persians in AOE3.
As for the Delhi sultanate, it may also be a surprise, but it was based in Delhi, in India, and while it was ruled by et#### Persians, but was completely separate from the Timurid Persian empire, and none of the historically Persian lands were in the Delhi Sultanate.
Eastern Europeans have no representation? What is Russia then? Chopped liver?
Would I like to see PLC in the game? Sure. But Persians are an in-demand choice, would expand representation in Asia to more than 3 choices, would add a civ that is featured in all other AOE games, and would represent a major Asian power that even at the height of Europesn colonization was never completely controlled, one of the very few Asian powers to have preserved independence.
Errr Persia is present in the AOE series. Who says they need to be an Elephant civ? They were kinda over that other than for some niche uses. They had a large territory and as such had a wealth of regional units.
Let’s not go on by which country is stigmatized today, otherwise we’d be pushing that big suspicious-looking mean bear out of the game too, which has been in AOE3 from the start.
Besides, Persia spans the whole of AOE3 (and before/after), has impact, was powerful, etc - unlike a lot of flash-in-the-pan civs suggested.
may be the panda should get out too, just like the bear, lol, just a joke, friend
but i think denmark and poland or burma and thai will also be good choice
No metan temas políticos en este foro, ya todos conocemos las idioteces que cometen nuestros países como para juzgar las civilizaciones del año 1800 aproximadamente. Que no me caiga bien corea del norte no significa que no quiera una facción coreana.
A tributary does simply not qualify for a civ though.
At most it should replace a consulate option for the chinese.
I think it will be a pair of civs, similar to the African civs, except for a region which hasn’t been done yet. There will be new mechanics, as was done with the African civs. South America only has Inca, so could be two South American civs. It could also be Vietnamese + Malay, to synergize with AOE 2 and also appeal to customers in those countries to get them to buy the expansion pack. Since I love elephants, that could be interesting.
They could pair it with not necessarily regions, but themes.
For example you tie it all into Persia and its vast trade network (or even part of the Silk Road) as the theme. We get Persia which fits into the AD ‘slot’, Omani, which were vying to control the Persian Gulf and even took some Persian lands, and lastly the Shona States who traded extensively with the Arabian traders of Omani as well as Persia directly ever since the days of Great Zimbabwe.
Two of those fit into the Asian Dynasties and African civ mechanics and the last one, the Omani (based on would need a new one, which if Morroco ever made it as a fully-fleshed out civ, would need some kind of shared Middle East and North Africa (MENA) civ mechanics, essentialy the predominantly Muslim/Arab civs (sometimes also refered to as Greater Middle East).
Egypt also works instead (or in addition) to Oman, as regardless of what others may suggest, Egypt did pretty much what it wanted, despite being in vassalage to the Ottomans (as was the case for a lot of protectorates at the time). Of course, this would need to be a Middle East & N.Africa civ as its vastly different to sub-Saharan Africa.
They shouldn’t be at all. They largely fell out of use after the Muslim conquest so they were rare even in the timeframe of AoE2. I think the last time they were used was under the Timurids which is before the period of AoE3.
And if recall correctly, those elephants had been taken from Delhi, they were not even Persian.
That’s great…
Yeah, i mean that Egypt was part of the Ottoman Empire until 1882…that’s why i said that i don’t think that they will put Egypt more than a revolution…
The only time Egypt was apart of the Ottoman Empire was during tax season. They even invaded other Ottoman territories. If they do add Egypt they could be like an non-American revolution civ.
Maybe, sad to think because we had mostly euro and post-euro civs, but could happen that they stopped doing the Poland and Denmark revolutions when they were greenlighted to have budget to do a DLC of them, more than the critics on the forums saying that was incorrect to show them as revolutions?
I want Persia
