The thing that I like about AoE 3 is that the unit counter system is really good. This makes it difficult to impossible to win by only spamming out a specific unit
They want to make the learning curve harder and less accessible to new players, ie AoE 2.2.
The game is quite difficult being an RTS to add mechanics that make the game difficult in multitasking and only brings frustration for those who start.
i just had a game where a guy spammed mangudai and because the arrows never miss and they fire while moving, he just ran around my base killing everything, whatâs the strategy in that?
in terms of the counter, AOE3 was really good in terms of depth.
But still micro features were not as good as AOE2
I would agree they both have their advantages that the other games donât
Kill them with archers, make towers. Walling properly helps as well.
If im not mistaken mangudai kinda suck vs normal foot archers. (cost effectively)
Arrow miss chance wouldnât change the fact it sounds like your opponent was swarming you while you had nothing to deal with it.
yea archers will not miss any shots xD especially fast-moving units like mangudai xD
Here goes aimbot xD
with the âballisticsâ upgrade in castle age you can hit moving units from point A to point B.
but if they suddenly change their route from point A to point C when the shot is fired.
what do you think i did, i also had mangonels xD, but because these things move while firing they are actually very strong, i did all the thinigs you suggest, even pushed him back to his base, but could not keep up with his double spawning of units, for real though, the game has limited strategies, hence the âRTLS gameâ title it now has in my opinion.
in this video he did not dodge arrows, it simply was out of range.
In AOE4 arrows track units infinite range
GuysâŠ
Its well knows they had laser guided arrows in medieval times that worked even in mid-shot when target moved out of range.
I saw it on the History Channel
China didnt have this tec. thats why there NOB dont work when target move s out of rangeâŠDUH
Its a meme lol.
I enjoy aoe 2 but I honestly have trouble seeing a basic mechanic like this changing the game so drastically as you try to sell it.
Youâre a god looking through the clouds that can will villagers into existence from a building.
Letâs not pretend that this isnât a game.
Donât even get me started about wololo monks.
there are a mother trucking load more SC and WC fans than aoe fans. you might not like it, but its true
anyway, as much as i dont like homing arrows, i doubt they should change it now, aoe players wont suddenly come flocking over if you remove homing arrows, but what is more likely to happen is the current player base will get even smaller
its genuinely naĂŻve to think that there arent fans who like the homing arrows, just because you dont
a lot of things in aoe4 need to be fixed or added (player colours, hotkeys, patrol, fix lag, pathing etc) but homing arrows is likely already too late
it is one of the main reasons why AOE2 fans are not into AOE4.
Itâs best to speak for yourself, not on behalf of fans of a game.
The game is unfinished, we will see how it looks when it is completed.
I disagree. I donât wanna play game microing every single unit to get advantage and losing because I didnât giggle move my stupid army or changed to custom **** shaped formation to distract enemy. You are pretty much favoring animation canceling. Why was that removed? Wasnât it same as getting advantage by microing better? Also 5 archers should not win against 10 archers.
Even the Viper stated it already.
AOE 2 micro gameplay is what he looks for and is the main reason he maining AOE2.
AOE4 is only for tourneys.
important difference, AOE2 style micro doesnât allow for faster attacks than normal, unlike AOE4 animation cancelling
How easy it is to compare a game that has been improving for more than 20 years with a game a few months old that is not yet complete.
Viper has a staunch 2 crowd. He has never said that there is no mic in AoE4 or that he prefers one thing or another. Right now it is in AoE2 for the micro? No, do not be mistaken.
