I liked the flavor of it, but I think with the 5% work rate back on the TC, they don’t need it. The eco is just so smooth. First go on an Arena TG with the new Persians I did a 24+2 into 100 vills in 24:35m … it was nuts. Usually I’m struggling to get 100 in 26m.
I’m not against making Dark Age different for various civs. But yeah, Feudal Age timing is very important. Maybe Georgians shouldn’t get the food penalty, maybe totally removed or maybe changed to wood penalty. And Armenians start was fine I guess (?).
I actually think Armenians is very strong now and maybe on OP level in Arena.

Check range indicator, it doesn’t change in PUP.
It was a nice bonus, but at the same time I think they don’t really need it.
It affect mainly late game and trash wars, and they’re already so good :
All eco techs / Not easy to push due to tanky castles and tcs / all FU trash options except skirms / Trashbows / Caravansérai in team game / Cheap and better paladin upgrade / HC and Bombard canon / Fast working tcs in case you have to reboom
My PUP doesn’t show any of the changes in the civ descriptions ?
The Mule cart is cheaper, and afaik I didnt get 5 gold when I tested a Savar killing a militia etc
Another missing change there is that Incas got a nerf.
Military units now cost -10% food in Dark age/15% in Feudal Age/20% in Castle Age/25% in Imperial Age.
I’m not sure this is what they needed. Still slower than other wood bonus.
I can see an argument that they don’t really need this. In my other topic I suggested -2 gold per kill while some people straight out want it gone. I can see it being too good on hussar spam.
I always thought all Persians needed is the dark age +5% back and more interesting options to play. They were just very bland before. I’m also totally biased towards their cav archers.
This is only super strong as it gets late enough. I agree with this only in combination with somewhere else to make up for it.

I don’t like this either. They feel like a worse Vikings: good economy into no power units. The removal of two man saw seems an intention to play them as a pure timing civ now. Their late game is still abysmal.

I agree. At least vikings have overwhelming eco and decent siege options.
I’d much rather have vikings on like black forest than armenians
