New DLC Inbound!

With all this lame AOE4 Garbage promotion of two variant civs. I have resolved never to buy AOE4. So let them rot.

Holding up their other game for their other nonsense.

More Lamps ! We need more Lamps !
Just wait and see, they said mid april, it’s not mid april.

And what about monastery design shared by many groups ? Wonder are uniques, but some buildings may have standardization that could be totally legit too.

Which french castle do you think french will have ? In switzerland we got a savoyard castle, at Chillon, that might be the design style they’re going to use, but in a way I doubt savoyard style will be used to represent franks.

I also wonder what Goth castle will look like, Hun, well all the castles we’ve not seen infact !

Nope. DOI had only 2 weeks. TMR had 3 weeks. Can’t remember the rest.

Redditors support the new aoe4 dlc wholeheartedly.

I just find this in reddit that post of 8 February, way before sneak peak, but i don’t know if it is reliable at all, it was already anticipating 5 new civs:

Also some other content anticipated in the snaek peak are here. Even if i didn’t check carefully, it says:

"There are 5 new civs. Well, it’s a little misleading, because one of the new civs is a Chinese rework, but yes. 4 completely new civs + a chinese rework.

The other civs are: Jurchens, Tanguts, Khitans and Tufans

Koreans and Mongols also receive some changes.

Changes to Existing Civs:

Hwacha is a new regional unit, replacing the Scorpion. Hwachas have less range and attack, but can fire 3 (4 for Elite) projectiles in a wide radius. Secondary projectiles deal 50% of the damage. Available for Chinese, Koreans, Jurchens and Tanguts.

Fire Lancer is a new Regional Unit upgrade replacing the Halberdier. It is a hybrid melee-ranged unit, with a charged attack that deals massive damage from a short range, but then it will act as a melee unit. It will be available to Chinese and Jurchen only.

Mongols Nomads tech is reworked: It now increases hp of light cav and steppe lancers by 15%. Current bonus reduced to 10 / 15% in Feudal / Castle Age. Current Nomads effect is a new civ bonus.

Korean Shikichion now adds 1 extra range to Hwachas as well.

Chinese Rocketry is slightly altered. It does no longer provide +4 attack to Scorpions, instead it allows Hwachas to fire two additional bolts (5 bolts in total, since Chinese will not have access to Elite Hwacha). Chu-ko-nu effect unchanged.

Chinese also receive the Steppe Lancer, without the Elite Version.

NEW CIVS:

1.Jurchens: Cavalry and Gunpowder Civilization

2.Tanguts: Cavalry and Siege Civilization

3.Khitans: Cavalry Archer and Siege Civilization

4.Tufans: Monk and Cavalry Civilization

5.Chinese rework
"

“The next expansion for Age II: DE will include FIVE brand NEW Civs, all playable in Ranked Multiplayer.”

This actually looks sooo believable!
Even the civ designs seem to fit with the screenshots.

But we already know that rocket carts replace mangonel and not scorpion and mongols do not have rework but korea do and chinease don’t have the steppe lancer.

Yes, reading a little bit more there are some incongruence, but keep in mind that this was posted more than one month before and, if he was some kind of beta player, devs could have change lot of things (e.g. name rocket for hwacha). Also the beta, if ever existed, could have been months before the post.

Maybe they also added a civ in the meanwhile (5 brand new civs

Let’s wait for a dev announcement.

All of that information is made up. That redditor has already made similar threads for previous DLC and they were completely off. For example, his prediction for V&V included full campaigns for the Magyars and Turks and for Mountain Royals he claimed there would be an Afghan civ with bonus for petard and demo ships (yes, I’m not joking)
It’s a rather obvious troll

Well, anyone can make up things after knowing the thematic of DLC and talk convincingly and get right half of the things. If he is really a beta tester he couldn’t have leak things without consequences, there should be a non-disclosure agreement.

Obvious fake.

He can’t be an internal tester.

Pretty much any of his “predictions” are wrong.
It’s 100% random speculation based on the 2 screenshots we were shown at the time.

Except that post is 1 month old while the screenshots were posted 2 weeks ago.

All the things he got right were things shown in early February:

Yes, it could be… to update Return of Rome I would add 2 UUs per civ and not just 1… :man_tipping_hand:

Yeah, don’t worry, at most they’ll show some DLC by mid-April and release it by the end of April or mid-May like DoI…

*AoE 3 DLC flashbacks…“oh no”…na, I don’t think so, they’ll announce it when they see it’s ready…

Exactly…they’ll release the DLC along with the game on PS5…

Yes, now everything will be AoE 4 until mid-April… then they will focus on the update and Chinese DLC for AoE 2… then the cycle will repeat itself (second Retold pantheon, second AoE 4 DLC and at the end of the year the Macedonian Chronicles DLC for AoE 2)…

Yes, many AoE 3 players are complaining on social media that the Baltic DLC probably was cancelled because of this lousy variant DLC… I might buy AoE 4 but not until the end of the year when the next DLC after this KoCaR one comes out…

Yes, supplies also disappear, and the Italians shift to an imperial crown more focused on gunpowder and artillery…

I actually was suggesting that a while ago. I completely forgot.

Could be hard making unique monasteries for Huns and Cumans tho.

I already did a thread about that two years ago. It might be worth looking at if you haven’t already.
