I already did enabled it, if I haven’t the buildings wouldn’t be like that. I just tried it again, then I discovered something quite weird. In the castle, if I press the Camel Archer icon (It’s where Ayrudzi supposed to be) it trains Camel Archers, but if I use the shortcut key it trains Ayrudzi. Is this perhaps connected to my jumbled tech tree somehow?
This is what I meant. The difference between the Republic and the Empire in the mod isn’t enough imo, so I suggest if you have the time, to change the Empire’s UUs skins to that of the Late Antiquity era when they reached Imperial Age.
No, that’s not how mods work. The datamod tells the game how to rewrite the structure of stuff, it’s used to redo stats, change units/techs, that kind of thing. Your buildings are not linked to it. That’s because the base game datafile is referencing files overwritten by graphics, so you will actually get most of the AoE1 style buildings regardless of whether or not you use the datamod, and as such, it is in no way proof that you have enabled it.
It shouldn’t be possible to have the camel archer icon at the fort if you have the datamod enabled properly, so I’m not sure how you’ve messed it up.
That is very very strange. I wonder if something is messed up with your datafile. Mine looks like this:
(You can ignore the tech tree, it’s not accurate for anything)
Maybe try and update the datamod? You could also install the Rome at War Multiplayer Datamod from the ingame mod manager, and use that, see if it fixes it.
This Mod is realy mindbowing. It fits perfectly between AoE1 and 2 and the level of details in this mod is great. Do you also plan to add more distand civs from that periode like the Han or an Indian civ like the Satavahana?
I know this might be a bit of a stretch, I’d like to see a Late Roman Empire version of the Roman Empire, just so I could compare the upcoming official vs how you guys make it.
Most likely it is visually more attractive, but not so mechanically advanced (I think that the official version may or may not add mechanics from later aoe)…
Sure, although the Roman Republic did not have legions until the Samnite Wars (4th century BC)…before that they used the Greek phalanxes…but by the time of Mario and Caesar it was indistinguishable from the Roman Empire, in fact It was Cesar who turned the Republic into the Empire, Augustus only made it formal…
Good job with this mod so far! I’ve had a great time playing it.
Would it be acceptable to use a graphic or two from this mod in my mod if I give credit? The main one I’m interested in is the Persian Immortal. Also, if possible, the Iberian unique unit, Egypt unique unit, and a ship or two. If not, I understand, since y’all put a lot of work into these. I’d also be willing to help this mod in some way if I can, although I’m not the most skilled modder out there. Sorry for posting this here, I couldn’t figure out how to do PM.
Just found out about this mod and was really looking forward to trying it. However maybe I’m blind but I can’t see how to download it? All the files at the top of the post say they were removed. I also found the mod on another mod site and it shows removed there as well.
Thanks Mahazona. That was actually the “other mod site” I mentioned but I see my problem now, I clicked a link in this thread to get there and it took me to an old version. I went back now and found the updated version. Thanks for the help!
