Australian revolution mentioned??
Australian and South Pacific maps would be amazing to get, with a Polynesian (Maori?) civ and a whole bunch of new maps and new map mechanics like they’re doing for the Arctic now. The South Pacific was the second last part of the world to be explored and colonised by old world powers (before Africa) and is unique to the rest of the world in resources, landscapes, and culture.
There are many fascinating native cultures that would make great native settlements, many unique landscapes to make cool maps, and lots of strange animals for hunts and treasure guardians. There is a LOT of classic age of exploration and colonial history in these places too, the age of heroic antarctic exploration, the colonisation of Australia and New Zealand, the various peaceful and not so peaceful meetings between Asian, European, and Pacific peoples.
Australia as a revolution would make the most sense for the British of course, but it would be possible to have them for the Dutch and French as well; though with how the revolution system seems to be tending away from shared revolutions maybe not. I did a proposal for an Australian revolutionary deck ages ago that now seems a bit out of date: Australia - #49 by TheSquidEmpire
The most important things to reference for a NSW or Australia revolution are (as you already said) Ned Kelly/Bushrangers, The Eureka Stockade + Victorian gold rush in general (during the peak of the gold rush Melbourne was the wealthiest city in the entire empire), Livestock (merino wool) and the squatter system, and Convicts (vital!!). Some other things that could be cool would be the various other small revolutions e.g. the Rum Rebellion, some of the famous exploration expeditions e.g. Burke and Willis, and unique resources e.g. Huon Pine or Opals.
In the South Pacific in general, I would really want to see an emphasis on whaling/sealing as resources, with an overhaul perhaps. Guano would be a great choice for a regional resource as well (also found on South American coastal maps) as that was a vital resource at the time and led to land grabs and conflicts to secure it. We’ve had some threads in the past about the kinds of maps that would be good to see, I think the set should include a few pacific island maps such as Hawaii and the Solomon islands, at least one NZ map (North Island for one team and South Island for the other?), an Australian outback map, and an Australian coastal or rainforest map, plus an Antarctic map. But there could be many more!!
