Am I too stupid, or is the game really difficult?

I have been playing the first mission in the Babylonian campaign, Holy Man. My goal is to use a lone priest to convert enemy units and eliminate the two rival civilizations. The game suggests I start with the village to the east, which is reasonable cuz it is indeed weaker. And that was what I did. When I used my priest to convert a villager, all other villagers started to swarm me and killed the priest right away. Difficultly is way too hard

I’m a new player and I cannot beat any campaigns on the “Easy” difficulty. I am constantly bombarded every 3 mins with at least 5 units from the enemy and any ground I make destroying the buildings of theirs is just rebuilt the next time I make an attack. There has to be something wrong. What can I do to make my experience better?

How do you beat this scenario? I watched the solution for the AoE, but that does not work. As soon as I convert a yellow worker, the rest mob and kill my priest. That leaves me with one worker and does not give me enough time to get an economy and military up and running before yellow and then red start attackiing.

Easier AI?

I really like this game and want to play it more, but I feel like even on easy the AI is way more aggressive in this installment than in 2 or 3 DE. Is there a way I can create a “noob” level AI that’ll act more like the easy AIs for 2 and 3?
