Can’t download or subscribe any mod

I guess I’m referring to this guy as my only piece of evidence, who admits is not sure if moving or just reinstalling fixed their problem. To which you have also responded similarly.

Is subscribing to mods bugged for anyone else?

I used to play this game back in my teenage days and wanted to try it out again with some Mods I saw on youtube, so I decided to get the Xbox Game Pass. I downloaded the game and ingame browsing the Mods section when I click on Subscribe nothing happens. On the webpage Ageofempires.com I can even see I have indeed subscribed to some Mods, but ingame nothing shows up. I am sad.

I am not an expert my friend, but I think the game has to be on the same drive as the operating system. So it does not have to be a SSD, just where your windows is installed.
I am not 100% certain that was the fix or a simple reinstall was the fix itself

How to publish a scenario mod? I tried everything

I have a simple .aoe2scenario file i’m trying to upload but I can’t get it to download in the game client in either Steam version or Windows store version. I tried zipping the scenario file only, and it ended up downloading but the directory folder only contained the scenario and the json file. When that happened the mod manager listed the mod with a red exclamation mark instead of a green checkmark. The only way to get this mod to work was by manually adding the folders resources_common\scenar…

So I read your suggestion and went to find and delete my mods folder in c:\users\x\games\Age of Empires 2 DE\mods\ and I noticed that inside were 2 different folders , one from my Steam version of the game and another for my Windows store version of the game.

Not sure what they are referring to as a steam folder and a windows store folder, they may be confused with folders that are there for either version.
