Yes but if the cake is turds then you’re polishing a piece of junk. This seems skewed and balance and fun gameplay should be most vital in a game whew you compete against others.

Why you want to participate in a Poll if you know that others will be voted higher?
Nobody knows who will win unti the final vote is tallied. Until then I will craft my heart out like I have for decades. Maybe that has made me a little cynical and higher standard. Don’t know. May the best civ concepts win regardless.
It’s nothing wrong about trying and failing.
But I can’t stand people who don’t even try.

You’re the boss of course, but my preference is to condense these all into one major category, call it “presentation,” or something like that. Most civs at least theoretically will have an interesting history and good campaign possibility, and it’s important that creators do their homework. Overall though, civ design seems far and away the most important (and the most effort goes into it, since for history and pictures people can just copy/paste Wikipedia).
I agree that these are the most important aspects, although I think balance is sometimes (slightly) overemphasized. You could make an algorithm to spit out a civ in 2 seconds that has a balanced tech tree, doesn’t mean the civ is interesting or fun to play, so that’s where the fun gameplay aspect comes in.

Maybe again I’m cynical and perhaps a lunatic but failure is a reflection of the individual. If I fail it echos for years as my future as a civ crafter which I still hold hope for

How does one submit its Civ design and how can we see and vote all contenders?
Also, are you considering having everyone just pick 1 civ in order to give it a vote, or to have everyone evaluate a civ design with a likert chart or similar mechanisms?

In your case I would just assume you want your Venezia Design. 
But I will just ask shortly before I start the poll everybody who has at least one Design that is elaborated enough which one he wants to have in the poll-
For the poll itself I havent decided yet, but I would probably just give 3-5 votes to each voter. So everybody can decide for how many civs he wants to vote. I think this way is for some reasons I don’t want to explicitly name here probably the best.

Mmm ok. Yeah I would like to see how my design compete with the others, but mostly I’m curious about the other designs and see what people submit.
It would be interesting that each voter can evaluate the various categories, but probably that’s too complicated…
Agree. Would be quite interesting. But I think this is probably something for later votes. We can make a poll for each individual category then
(And no, I won’t make a poll for political incorrectness…)
