My guess is that what ever they have planned for AoM has to wait until after AoE4.
Either AoMDE or AoM2 in the AoE4 engine. Possibly both but less likely.
I’m starting to believe that they are more working into AoM2 rather than AoM DE. The lack of news seems as they aren’t ready to announce anything yet and if they really are working on a AoM 2 it will most likely come out after AoE4.
The success of AoE4 will probably determine how much effort will be put in AoM2 as well. Just my guess and if you ask me I’d prefer them to make AoM 2 with all of the civs from the first game while also adding 3-4 new civs to make the roster bigger and more interesting.
It would be incredible, and I still have a suggestion for innovation, but I would need another graphics engine.
Suggestion: Combine Age of mythology with Rise And Fall, meaning that the heroes also have the option to attack in third person up close, similar to Rise And Fall, only using the Mythology theme
Sounds good on paper but not fun ingame.
You want to not be able to command your units and economy for a while to just control one unit? That can never work in multiplayer.
Even in campaign in might feel wrong or annoying.
There is a reason why even games like Dota where you basically only control one hero are in an RTS perspective. All 1st/3rd person Dota like games failed.
It feels like a high effort low reward thing. No one would use it in multiplayer unless heroes would be OP but than it wouldn’t be an RTS anymore.
The only solution to this problem would be something that I’m surprised no one made before.
How about a 2v2 were each team is one RTS player and one player controlling the Hero.
Incredible I loved the idea
If they make a new AOM DE at lest they should give 50% discount to extended edition owners, we can’t even play 2v2 with no shutter/lag… 3v3 is unplayable
There was a discount on AoE2DE for AoE2HD owners on Steam but I forgot how much.
It’s only 20€ anyway, that’s 1/3 of a modern game or even 1/4 of a PS5 game.
Material interesante para “Age of Mythology Definitive Edition” o “Age of Mythology II”…

I think instead of continually releasing AOE 3 new civs, which would have diminishing returns I would guess, they might try AOM DE to reach a different group of players. For example I didn’t buy the latest ‘mexico’ dlc for AOE 3 however I would definitely buy AOM DE at any price under $400.
So…for one of my assignments in college, my group decided to re-launch Age of Mythology. I am posting here the link for the research that we decided to create to help our assignment.
If you liked the game and want to help some Marketing students, please answer the survey. Thank you!
My Survey
Ouch thats from november 2019
Wow, its been awhile since I last went here.
I saw news that AOM:DE is being teased by Microsoft. I do hope its legit, as I really really really love playing this game. For me, this is where I get my Classical history fix (ie. Greek, Romans, etc.) instead of AoE1:DE. The units and gameplay is just so much better than AoE1.
news? when and where ?
I think this was made back last year, with the devs stating they are thinking about AoM and what they will do with that series.
hopefully not by relic
Why? I mean yeah AoE4 isn’t perfect, but they did work on AoE2DE and they did good there. Is there any reason why Relic shouldn’t do it?
Relic only worked on AOE 4
I think they should do the game because we’re just arguing about it but it makes no sense if Microsoft reads all the discussion then maybe they would understand too.
Other categories look at them as well and fix the bugs but here nothing it measured is impossible to know.
They go for money it seems because a lot of people buy Ao2 Ao3 Ao4 and they deal with it more but they know what’s good for players and the Aom spin of will be left down someday someone will see to see how it should be done and put on the market but these plans are still far away maybe then for the 25th or 30th anniversary it will be done.
Fans need to create their own idea in the game via steam which requires a lot of work and perseverance and recognition after a good job.
That’s why Microsoft should entrust a publisher who would do the game overhaul under their control and have it ready for release later this year because everyone is already waiting for the Age of Empire franchise to be milky even with the Aom spin of the game and everyone would be happy.
Maybe they think that Aom is not bought by many people and it would not be worthwhile for them to upgrade, but because of its high price, not many people buy it like Ao2 because they are not for the same price and this is a problem because they are not for the same price. they buy toys.
