Latin American general post

One thing I didn’t understand from the developers when designing the new revolutions is that they gave all of these “cattle herder” units which are based in the famous rancher cultures of several countries ########### ######## ######## Cowboys, Colombian Llaneros, etc.), but didn’t add the Huaso for the Chileans for some reason…

This censorship is getting ridiculous. Seriously, # # # # # # # # # ## # # U C H O and A M E R I C A N are now considered offensive? This is ruining most discussions!

Ok, I’ll try again: Argentinian Gaucho.

Huasos aren’t known for participating in wars. Maybe rotos? (WoL rears its head)

Well, a forum that involves all the topics related to Latin America gives a lot to talk about. So here are some of my proposals that I have already shown in other forums, but I will compile them here:

Rework the natives:

The Caribs
Jesuits
Mapuche
Mayas
Tupi
The Quechuas
Zapotec

I’m not sure if Navajo and Apache fit here, but I guess they do. Could the Aztecs have a shipment of ‘infinite Apache allies’? It would make more sense than the Incas training Zapotecs. By the way, when are they going to change this? In South America, the Zapotecs, and the Mayans do not fit which I think are still on the card of the Incas.

New natives:

Muica

The Arawaks

Taironas and Wayuu I will propose later. I think the WOL mod works with them.

New maps:

Biodiversity diversity and geography in Latin America is very diverse. We should have twice as many maps at least. I give my grain of sand with these landscapes that Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru share.

It would be more suitable to represent the north of the Andes, where there were no llamas, or anything like that. (Yes, but not that far north).

I would also remove the bears from most of the South American maps and they would only be on the proposed map. In South America there was only this bear that was not as ferocious as its counterparts. It hunts, but very rarely, since it usually eats bromeliads and fruits. Replace it with the spectacled bear which would have less hit points and less attack. Although I don’t know if it would make sense as a treasure guardian, but it would be nice to include it in the landscapes somehow. (Andean bear or spectacled bear)

The condor of the Andes would also be great to include. (although I’m not sure if it already appears as a bird that flies over).

Here is my extended proposal on a complete biome for this region (Andean Paramos)

Other things:

  • Naval or fluvial trade routes for maps such as the Amazon, the Caribbean and the Spanish.

  • New resources like emeralds and rubber trees. Esmeraldas for the map that I previously proposed, and rubber trees for the Amazon, Orinoco and Guallanas.
    image

  • Treasures without outlaws of the old west (they are out of place), and in turn, introduce new outlaws according to the region. I don’t know much about the subject, but I suppose someone will know more.

  • New treasures and animal treasure guardians (can you imagine killing an anaconda?)

I had to edit my post. I cross out with ######### the “artificial intelligence”. I don’t know why the AI considers a map and the name of a native tribe offensive.

I feel like the censorship has gotten really bad in the last couple of months.

I mean, I don’t think the Cowboys, the Gauchos and the Jagunços are known for participating in wars either…

Gauchos very much are. Also Jagunço is the single worst example you could have used since they explicitly are armed bodyguards.

I wasn’t sure about Gauchos, so my bad.
About Jagunços, I never denied their role, but, like Huasos, they didn’t participate in “wars” either.

Well, at that point I guess it depends on what you define as a war

For me it will be Asia (Middle East or Southeast Asia) and in 2024, Greater Colombia and Argentina for the liberators of America or Greater Colombia and Haiti in 2024 and Brazil and Argentina in 2025 (because of the war of Brazil between the two nations)…

Even if we consider this example as a “war”, what about Cowboys for the US revolution? There was literally no reason not to add the Huasos as a unit for the Chilean Revolution.

Maybe add them as vilagers with food recolection bonus.

If I were to guess, Huasos weren’t added as an unit because I didn’t add them as an unit to Wars of Liberty due to personal biases and the DE team kinda just followed in my stead since they didn’t know better.

I would like to take advantage of the fact that May 25th is approaching, to formally ask the developers for a change regarding the Argentine revolution of Italy, Spain and Germany.

My request is the following, I think they should separate the Argentine revolution into three different decks, one for each civilization and add the necessary cards to maximize the revolution at a military level.

Obviously I don’t expect them to add this in the current patch, but I think it would be a nice gesture if they added it in a patch on July 9th.

Deck of Italy. :argentina:

Deck of Germany. :argentina:

Note: Because Germany does not have enough cards to help the Argentine revolution militarily I decided to give them access to the Settler Wagon and their upgrade card (let’s assume they represent Immigrants), I also decided to add a card that lowers the cost of the stables. (I thought it was appropriate for the revolution)

Deck of Spain. :argentina:

I imagine you’ll want a reason and argument for doing this.
My reason is simple, the more time I spend with the base civ, the less time I spend using revolution and I personally prefer to have fun using revolution than go imperial.

My argument is simple too, all the cards I propose can be shipped before the revolution, therefore it shouldn’t have any negative effect on the game.

In addition to the above, I would like you to add a new card to the Argentine revolution. (To the three variants)

image
Pulperías: The gaucho and the mounted grenadier gain 15% more health and damage; allows gauchos to build bars; it costs 1000 food.

Optional.
I imagine you are wondering, and why only Argentina? why not others? to which I reply, actually I would like all revolutions to have this capacity, but with some you have to test this idea.

A better alternative, and one I would like more, would be to allow us to customize the revolution decks, but I imagine that would take a long time and I think they currently are understaffed and resourced, but I may be wrong.

Regardless of what decision you make, thank you for representing us in the game and I hope that all developers are tripled in salary by Maicrosoft.

Hallo Latin American faction posters

we have decided that the rule on Latin American faction only being postable here seizes to be, you can now make new threads if you want to. however before you go some ground rules:

  1. pleas don’t bombard other peoples threads with Latin American suggestions, even if the posts are in Spanish, its okay to ask to be included in a “list” but pleas don’t turn entire threads into “but what about Chile” pleas.

  2. pleas respect other peoples opinions even if they are oppose to your own, calling people racist because they have another view than you is not acceptable.

  3. pleas no more drama, the forum is the most fun when people don’t accuse one another of different things, we all want a better game lets remember that.

with that said, have a nice day and good postings

Me, who always asks about Chile

Did you make the same rules for people asking for german split?

A “Europe general post” would be cool. We can get all the Polish-Lithuanian and Prussian/Austrian splits there and stop cloating the forums

A Italian/Teuton split thread would be cool for AoE2, so we don’t have the same neverending threads.
