[Request] Separate hotkey for Trebuchets

It’s annoying how Trebuchets keep packing, unpacking because of all military units select hotkey. Can we please separate them into a different default hotkey group?

Don’t tell me about Ctrl + Number. I know that already.

I don’t personally have this issue much because I learned my lesson with various units who need some extra TLC, like monks, mangonels, scorpions, battering rams, cannon dudes, and, yes, trebs… so I use the CTRL+Number groups to section military units how I like. Or double-click unit types and assign each out how I need. (I don’t use the “Select all military” hotkey (SHIFT+Comma, or whatever it is) very often… maybe once per 10 matches, and only at the very end for fun)

I guess since Trebs are the only units that involve packing/unpacking, a case could be made for them to have a separate hotkey?

However, I’d be curious to know how many people want to move all military at once without also doing the Trebs. For instance, when I want all military, I want all military; not all military minus trebs. But that’s just me!

Why not both? A hotkey for

• All military without Trebuchets
• All military including Trebuchets

Players can assign keys and use the hotkeys as they prefer without restriction.

How often do you encounter wanting to do this, and in what occasion(s)?

I only select all military when sending everything across the map in late game. A macro action. Do you use it a lot for micro actions or something? Maybe I’m missing out and should try it (and feel the pain of the treb packs/upacks )

EDIT: Ugh, I see the Microsoft Teams emojis have hit the forum (at least I think that’s where that smiley is used). Their emojis really need a re-design, imo

I too use all military units select hotkey mostly in late game. Early game it is possible to create control groups. But by the late game it’s mostly huge number of armies which you want to keep switching across the map to engage multiple areas while they keep getting created freshly from the buildings.

New emojis are cute. Haha.

I am not the first gal to propose this idea. Time and again requests for similar functionality for military and trebuchets have popped up in the past.

Issue with "Select all Military" hotkeys and Trebuchets

ISSUE When you use the “Select all Land Military” or the “Select all Visible Land Military Units” hotkey and you have any Trebuchets in the army that gets selected, then those Trebuchets will stop you from using “Attack Move” or “Patrol”. When this happens you have to slowly exclude them from your army before you can react/attack. Select all army hotkey (different options)

I believe the select all army hotkey needs some more options. First of all on hybrid maps it always selects the land military if you have one. A select all navy military would be very nice and a great addition for maps like nomad. That way you could fight easier on land and water at the same time. Quick addition to the "Select All" hotkeys that would make life easier

I am currently using “Select All” hotkeys for my TCs and my military buildings instead of using control groups. It is easier for me because I don’t have to append every newly constructed building to my already existing control groups. Please add Attack Move and Patrol commands when Trebuchets are selected with other military units

Right now there is no way to Attack Move your units if you have even one Trebuchet selected. When ordering units I too often drag box over my Trebuchets when trying to defend them and can’t order Attack Move or Patrol on my surrounding units because of it.
